I'm about break-even and considering selling 25% to 40% at the risk of buying back higher. I don't want to face a further 25% altcoin pullback without having dry powder. I'm not bearish, I just want to be balanced and prepared for either outcome. If alts drop significantly lower, it will be a huge opportunity for many, a reset to 2023 levels.

The goal is of couse to maximize 2025 bull run profits, with optimal 12 month LTCG entries.

Scenario: You are up 30% on some coins, and down 15% on others.

Which do you sell?

Some winners have shown strength and you don't want to sell. And selling creates a capital gain, which may reduce your net investment in 2025 bull market. But there are lots of holders who are in profit, and those coins have a long way to fall to major support.

Conversely, some of the weaker coins are at major support, some only 20% from bear market low ranges. So although they are weak, they *may be less likely to fall another 40% as compared to coins that are in profit.

The risk: winners can rebound 30% in a day and leave you in the dust.

Laggards usually take time to get momentum and will likely be based on Bitcoin's regaining bull control so are much more predictable. I may not be being precise with the term "laggards". There are many projects which have yet to show their strength I believe, so the answer to "dump the laggards and don't rebuy" is not the point.

Winners may likely have more to lose though. When uncertain, a balanced approach can make sense (sell 50% of each). I'm leaning toward selling the winners. How would you approach this?
