What do you use crypto for?

I was looking at https://coinmarketcap.com/coins/ , a list of 853 different crypto coins and tokens and I started to think about the use cases for all of these. I understand that Bitcoin has been used for online drug trading and other dark things. But there must be real use cases for all of the others too?

If I look at the Ethereum eco system there is a lot of tokens and NFTs. But the only thing in that eco system must be ETH who has real value being the payment for transactions? Same for Solana and BNB i guess?

How do you use cryptos? Is it only for stacking (financial speculation?) or do you really use it for something practical? And if so, how do you handle the volatility of the value?
