The traditional banking system has you, the customer (allegedly), placing your hard earned FIAT into the bank's trust and they invest into whatever they aspire to be a good investment. Example: The world’s biggest 60 banks have provided $3.8tn of financing for fossil fuel companies since the Paris climate deal in 2015, according to a report by a coalition of NGOs. Traditional banks don't care about anything but profit and invest into anything that seems most profitable. Historically banks have caused most of financial crashes by being too greedy, creating and bursting enormous financial bubbles and using your hard earned FIAT money to invest in industries that literally destroy the planet. Crypto is a way out of this system. Yes, Bitcoin and CO have some environmental issues, but there are new emerging layer 2/3 ecosystems that are negating that effect and even Bitcoin Miners are working on decreasing their environmental impact. Owning Crypto gives you the control over your investments and the fact that Banks Tried to Kill Crypto and Failed, Now They’re Embracing It just cements, that they are scared of a generation taking their financial future into their own hands.
