Bitcoin is King: Bitcoin performed better than 46 of top 50 altcoins over the past 90 days. The last time Bitcoin performed so well relative to alts was almost two years ago (August 2021)

The crypto market moves in waves, where sometimes Bitcoin is the the best performer and other times altcoins outperform Bitcoin.

The Altcoin Season Index quantifies the strength of Bitcoin vs. top alt coins on a scale of 0 to 100. A score of 0 means Bitcoin outperformed the 50 biggest altcoins over a 90 day period and a score of 100 means that Bitcoin was outperformed by the 50 biggest altcoins over a 90 day period. According to the index, a score under 25 indicates Bitcoin season and a score over 25 indicates Altcoin season.

This week, the Altcoin Season Index achieved a score of 8, meaning that Bitcoin performed better than 46 of top 50 altcoins over the past 90 days. Today, the score is 10. This shows amazing strength for Bitcoin. The last time this happened was August 2021, almost two years ago.

• Interestingly, the last time we saw such a strong Bitcoin season, Bitcoin dominance (market share of Bitcoin relative to the total market cap) was at 58%. Now it is at 48%.

• The top alt coins that performed better than Bitcoin over the last 90 days are relatively unknown: STX, XRD, RNDR, IMX, and GRT.
• The worst performers are APT, APE, AXS, and ALGO.
