Gaming will be the ultimate proof of concept for web3

A lot of gamers here on Reddit so I’m sure this is probably a somewhat popular opinion despite the hate on NFT’s but the most excited I’ve ever been as a kid and gaming was when I started to play CSGO and would get dropped skins for free that I could then sell on the steam marketplace.

After a couple hundred hours I had enough I could sell to purchase another game I wanted to play.

The difference with web3/NFT games will be you can actually sell into a currency and not just steam credits essentially. (Yes I know other sites existed but for the majority of kids they just sold on steam for steam credits).

This will pave the way for the so called ‘metaverse’ where communities are somewhat connected through the potential for cross game compatibility with your skins.

Imagine buying a Ferrari and now you can bring it across to GTA, racing games, hell maybe fortnite!

This will be the beginning of web3 gaming but it won’t stop here. You’ll be able to gamble your loot (for better or worse) and maybe recover some of your investment for that silly skin you bought when you were super into that one champion on league of legends.

I don’t think necessarily it will be an investment that goes up in value buying gaming NFT’s but when they’re 10c and you can sell all your old bullshit from games you don’t play anymore I think I’m gonna be a happy gamer!

What’s best is companies will love it because they can set royalties and forever make money on old skins that are being transacted for years to come.

Calls on web3 gaming companies imo. Buy the pickaxe not the gold.
