How is MEXC?

I've been using the same CEX for a while but am thinking of switching. I browsed Coingeckos more 'trusted' ones and saw MEXC in there. I've been seeing it for a while and after checking it out they seem to have very cheap fees, don't seem to bother too much with KYC and publish reserves.

So here is my obvious question. What's wrong with it? Would it be safe to deposit fiat and just buy some cryptos? Would it be as safe keeping them there for a while as on Kraken/Binance/Nexo... ? Any bad experiences for simple transactions?
