So a number of people might be between jobs, trying to get their first job, or looking to make a jump and they hang out here all day. In this post we will take a look at jobs around the crypto space, and how you MIGHT be able to get one if you want.

Note, things that hasn't been around for a while you should treat as a startup. Meaning, the company you work for might not be around in a year and you are expected to juggle 20 jobs and work 300 hours a day (which tends to be why most startups don't stick around for long).

DAO

A DAO is a good way to go about getting work and experience. But keep in mind this isn't as simple as just showing up and saying hi. A DAO is a company/project ran by software. Most are a simple project and you need to think of yourself like a freelancer where if you are sick, then that's on your head since there is no sick days, vacations, taxes are the same as a freelancer, and so on. It's honestly hard to make a single DAO gig your full time job.

And note, many pay in the crypto they are base in. Depending on the DAO will depend on the pay. Like some use grants, where others use a voting system. Some might have requirements before you can help out. Like the DAO most can join is the newer ones, but the ones that has been around a while or a little bit more to them, they might require you to get approved by current members. This is one of the bigger and more well known ones.

Anyways, some newer ones they might need things like mods, developers, marketing, or other people. It isn't just the tech people that can get in. Like we have more going for us because some pay us to teach others, develop, audit, etc. But depending on the DAO there could easily be jobs like being a mod on their discord.

Job boards

There is job boards like this https://cryptocurrencyjobs.co/

Something to note is job boards have the same problems as normal indeed or other job boards (btw check them out too. Many blockchain/crypto companies use them.) But it could be where the majority of jobs listed aren't real.

For those of you who doesn't know. On normal job boards I think the current estimate is 25% are fake. A number of companies flat out admit the job is fake and they are using it to see how replaceable people are, salary, skill level, etc. In some cases they will even put someone through the interview, and not hire a single person because there is no job. But this gives the company a crap ton of info.

Personally, I think the 25% is reverse. In my experience, the far far far majority of jobs are fake.

IDK how bad it is in the crypto world, but 100% this happens with us too. A major thing to keep in mind is things like social security and so on. Even on normal job boards you need to watch out because there is a ton of scammers acting like they are from x company, and at the end they are after your info for identity theft. Like it is sad, but no matter what industry, you need to research the company and group posting.

My point is, if you're trying to flee from the normal job market thinking that stuff stays on that side of the fence. It doesn't. But at the same time, job boards or going to company sites is a great way to go about it. Note there is many different companies around crypto. They need HR, marketing, developers, mods, accountants, etc. Like if you have your CPA and want to jump into the crypto industry. I would look at one of the many crypto tax programs like Koinly.

Media

There is obviously money in YouTube, books, moon farming, and other things when it comes to crypto.

Note, educational content tends to make a bit over a long period of time. Like you can make price guess videos and a day later the video is dead since the info is dead. But if you make videos like what is x coin, or what does x thing do. Then as long as it is useful info people will search and find it.

Same thing with books and other things. I even have educational post people still find after months of being up and no one has interacted with them.

Lobby groups

Right now because the USA is a mess when it comes to crypto regulation. There some lobby groups. Same with other places around the world. There is also legal groups and others. Sometimes groups like the following hires people like you to help lobby for crypto, a policy, etc.

Note many jobs like this, crypto lawyer, etc is a who you know.

White hat hacker

A number of projects have bug bounties. Remember to look at the scope and see what the rewards are. Even more, look at how they want you to write up the documents. Anyone who has done a bug bounty knows what I'm talking about.
