Let's entertain the idea of a massive banking crisis in the developed financial world and its impact on crypto / bitcoin (let's say the "beginning" of the next financial crisis).

I will try to condense and simplify this post as much as possible for simplicity's sake.

Generaliized predictions in a few numbered points:
1. Properly collateralized stablecoins (USDC, BUSD) and improperly audited stablecoins (USDT) will lose their pegs 1 to 1 on the dollar. They may or may not get their pegs back.
2. Many altcoins will go to zero. Quite a few already have one foot in the coffin.
3. More people will gradually lose faith in the dollar.
4. In situations where appropriate, crypto could be used in a few niche situations to buy things when people cannot access cash in their own bank(s).

First let's start with predictions for bitcoin. There is a non-zero chance that something like what we saw happen in March of 2020 could take place. But what would the response from the government and the federal reserve mean? Will the government print more money? This would inevitably bring up Jack Dorsey's old tweet, "Hyperinflation is already here." or similar sentiment.

The prediction with the above scenario:
A large drop (either gradual or sudden), then the government announces bailouts and stimulus packages.
A gradual pump once that money hits American bank accounts.

The only other alternative would be the government performs a bail-in instead of printing more money.

Initial predictions for bitcoin:
Large drop.
Money in banks gets locked because (some, not all) would need to steal it from the depositers to make themselves whole again.
Sizeable pump when people see first-world banks stealing money from clientelle. If bail-ins happen, it won't be every single bank colluding at the same time, right?
