The basic strategy to “just hold for years, forget about it and then profit off“ is a big gamble. Either you will have absurd 1000% gains or -99% losses. Being active is important.

As we have now all been through a bear market ourselves, we do know that the only way of surviving them is to have a proper strategy in your hands that you will follow throughout. For many of us this has been to just HODL or even DCA and buy the dip to decrease your average purchase price, which is pretty solid too. But others have also been saying that it is way easier, why don‘t we just hold and forget about it completely to then profit off it in a few years time?

It may sound so simple and with nearly no effort but that is just not how investing really works but rathe gambling. This strategy is most likely inspired by the countless people that forgot about their Bitcoin holdings and a few years later saw how those are worth millions, amazing feeling but not for everyone…

All of that could easily be prevented by keeping one eye, occasionally, on the latest big Crypto news. You don‘t have to be 24/7 on this sub but checking in every second day for a few minutes would decrease the chances of such a scam taking your Investment down by a lot. Not to forget, you could even lose ALL your holdings if an exchange like FTX collapse. Being active is indeed very important, especially in an volatile environment like Crypto.
