What is the best advice someone has given you about crypto?

For me it was when a friend pointed out that the app I was buying crypto on wasn’t actually allowing me to do anything with it. I couldn’t withdraw, spend, stake, or do anything much at all except for play a game of number go up, where I could change it back to fiat. The app reduced every crypto, from BTC to every shitcoin, into a glorified stock. Has anyone changed your mind with some good advice? Or made you see a project in a different light?
