Right off the bat: Your money - you do with your money as you please and I have zero opinion for any choice you make to potentially help someone. But I want to address the core motive for these stories. Most of the stories start as follows: "Help, I lost my seed phrase, did I lose everything?" "My cold wallet won't work and I can't recover the phrase" "I fell for scam x,y,z" "My family is now in financial ruin" "Anything helps" - Should we take these comments at face value? "Hey buddy, sorry for your luck I'll send you some crypto" "Hey, here's a moon for the road ahead" I need proof. I think anyone reading a story from an anonymous stranger deserves proof before reacting. Jeez. Nothing wrong with good cheer and wanting to help your neighbor. But when money is involved, I often wonder the motive. Why shouldn't I? Scammers make a killing ripping people off. And even better - none of us know each-other past comments we make on this subreddit. No face, no real connection, just profit for some carefully chosen words. Maybe the world has turned me into a skeptic. Or maybe it just comes from my natural mindset to question everything around me. How many times have we seen Emails preying on others to gain their funds. And what better place to do that then on a social media platform talking about money with investors who may or may not have already made profit. These folks aren't asking for all of your money. They're just asking all 3.9-million of us each for a little. And I don't believe the scam. Maybe some are true, but how on earth do you detect the difference? Do you just have a 7th sense to know? I don't and I just see bad players working on raw emotion. submitted by /u/coinsRus-2021 [link] [comments]
