I mined on a gaming laptop so you don't have to. Here are the results $$$

Today I conducted a fun experiment that allowed me to learn more about the blockchain and get my feet wet into mining.

I know.. I'm late to the party. Prof-of-work will soon be left aside for other mechanisms as proof-of-stake. But as always .. I'm late to the cryptoparty.

Anyways. I have a gaming laptop for personal use, it's a Lenovo Legion 5 (RTX3060). I started mining ETH with the 2Miners pool. The payout are done in BTC or NANO ( feeless, fuck yeah)

I've mined non-stop for 13h at a hashtrate of 40 (MH/s). I've choose the normal mode so not fancy overclocking stuff. The laptop was in left in a tent position (A) close to a window (it's a little chill outside). The hot spot reached a temp of 72 Celsius.

What about the numbers $$$ ?

So after 13h of non-stop mining at 40 MH/s I've got 0.000351 ETH (1.67 $ / 1.46 €) .

So in 24h I should get 0.000648 (3.08 $ / 2.69 €). Meaning that if I run 24/7 in one year I would get 983.8 €.

I've paid 1024€ for this notebook So would need to mine non-stop 24/7 for 379 days.

So this may not be really profitable or may be depending on your take. It's my personal computer so I need it for my self . The risk of damaging for mining some bucks may not worth it.

But it was a fun experiment and my house didn't got burned.

Edit: some numbers.. me noob

Edit 2: So the electricity cost is 0.15€ kw/h. So in 24h it's 3.6€ more that the daily payout (not sure about this numbers). So it's not profitable.. but comme on .. you already knew it .. it's a gaming laptop

Edit 3: feel free to help me calculate the energy consumption because I know shit about fuck

Edit 4: ok. The laptop consumes around 200 wh. So in 24h it's around 0.72€. Which means in a day 2.69 - 0.72 = 1.97€ a day of profits. So I need 519 days to pay the laptop off
